March 19 is a Remote Learning Day for K-6 Students
March 19 will be a Remote Learning Day for all kindergarten through 6th grade students in Middletown City School District (MCSD). All K-6 students will learn from home on this day.
Ohio's Presidential Primary Election will occur on March 19, and all of MCSD's K-6 school buildings serve as polling places. Given the increased activity and foot traffic associated with polling places, the decision was made to move to a Remote Learning Day to ensure the safety and security of our students.
Ahead of the Remote Learning Day, MCSD will provide students with learning activities and resources centered around the total solar eclipse, which the City of Middletown will witness on April 8.
To mark the once-in-a-lifetime experience, which Ohio last witnessed in 1806, MCSD will use a calamity day on April 8 and will be closed.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community.
