JD Vance, Middletown High School graduate, named Republican vice president nominee

U.S. Senator JD Vance, a 2003 graduate of Middletown High School, has been named the Republican nominee for Vice President.
After graduating from high school, Vance joined the United States Marines Corps and served as a public affairs marine in Iraq. He then attended Ohio State University, graduating in 2009. He graduated from Yale Law School in 2013.
Vance rose to national prominence in 2016 with the publication of his best-selling memoir "Hillbilly Elegy," which was adapted into a Netflix film in 2020.
He was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022 and has represented the State of Ohio since January 2023.
Vance is the first millennial vice-presidential candidate and the first to have served in the Marine Corps.
