Three MCSD Schools Receive 2024 Momentum Award

Middletown City School District (MCSD) is proud to announce that three of its elementary schools—Amanda Elementary, Creekview Elementary, and Wildwood Elementary—have been honored with the 2024 Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
The Momentum Award recognizes districts and individual school buildings that have demonstrated outstanding improvement in achievement while continuing to show growth. To qualify, schools must have improved their performance index by at least three points from the 2022–2023 report card to the 2023–2024 report card and achieved a value-added progress rating of four or more stars.
"This recognition highlights the tireless efforts of our educators, the supportive involvement of our families, and the hard work of our students, who strive every day to create a culture of academic growth and success,” Superintendent Deborah Houser said. “These awards reaffirm our commitment to providing high-quality education and ensuring that every Middie has the opportunity to rise.”
These awards place MCSD schools among an elite group. This year, 193 school buildings – out of more than 3,000 school buildings across Ohio – received the 2024 Momentum Award. Amanda Elementary is celebrating its second consecutive Momentum Award win.
This achievement reflects MCSD’s collective effort to provide an environment where educators are supported and students are empowered. The district remains dedicated to building on this momentum in the future.
