Sexton Selected as Ohio Teacher Leader Liaison
Middletown City School District's (MCSD) Joni Sexton has been selected for participation as an Ohio Teacher Leader Liaison with the Ohio Teacher Leader Network.
Sexton is currently a Teacher Leader for MCSD's Curriculum Department in grades 6-12. In her role, she helps to implement new curriculum, order new supplies, perform technology assessments, and answer teacher questions. She has spent 24 years with MCSD, first as an eighth-grade teacher, then as a Teacher Leader at Central Academy, and now as a Teacher Leader at the District level.
Ohio Teacher Leader Liaisons make a two-year commitment to volunteer, participate in professional development, and engage in two-way communications and feedback with Ohio's Department of Education related to current and future education topics that support the Future Forward Ohio initiative.
“I believe we should always be lifelong learners, and look for ways to grow and support one another in the educational field," Sexton said.
