Middletown Schools Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded Middletown City School District (MCSD) with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This award is the fourth major achievement for the MCSD financial department this year.
“The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is just one more way we can show our community that Middletown Schools is a good steward of tax dollars,” said Randy Bertram, MCSD Treasurer. “I must once again give credit to the MCSD financial team for their hard work and attention to detail.”
An impartial panel judged MCSD’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) and the panel determined MCSD financial department meets the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to communicate its financial story.
