Two Middletown Middle School students, Alyssa Miller and Melchizedek “Moosh” Thomas, successfully represented Middletown City Schools at the National Civics Bee local competition in Lima, Ohio.

The annual National Civics Bee, presented in partnership with The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is designed to encourage young people to engage in civic life and inspire a deeper understanding of American democracy. This prestigious competition invites middle school students to share their ideas for improving their communities while building knowledge, confidence, and trust in democratic institutions.

Alyssa Miller earned a 3rd-place finish, while Moosh Thomas came in 5th place, with both students advancing to the State Finals.

Middletown City Schools commends Alyssa and Moosh for their outstanding performance and looks forward to cheering them on as they prepare to compete at the state level. Their success is a testament to the hard work of our students, the support of our educators, and the importance of civic education in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
