Middletown City Schools Hires Highview 6th Grade Center Assistant Principal

May 14, 2019
Jake White

Middletown City School District today announced Jacob White, current fourth grade teacher at Edgewood City Schools, as the new Highview 6th Grade Center assistant principal. The Middletown Board of Education (BOE) approved White’s hire at Monday’s BOE meeting.

“I am happy to introduce Jacob White as our new Highview 6th Grade Center assistant principal. His strong classroom management, building leadership skills, and positive energy were the key qualities highlighted during the interview process,” said Deborah Houser, HR Director at MCSD. “Middletown Schools and Highview 6th Grade Center are excited to welcome Mr. White to the Middie Modernization Movement.”

“I am excited about the potential of my leadership team with the positive and inspiring addition of Mr. White. Together, we are committed to building an innovative learning community at Highview 6th Grade Center,”  said Jenny Dennis, principal at Highview 6th Grade Center.

No stranger to Butler County, OH, White has spent the past six years in the Edgewood City School District, primarily as a fourth grade teacher. White spent a year teaching seventh grade as well as several years coaching at the junior varsity and varsity athletic levels.

“I am filled with excitement to join the Middletown City School District. My enthusiasm stems from the belief in the Middie Modernization Movement, and the great work that has already started to help this district and community reach its full potential. My experiences as a teacher and leader have allowed me to gain confidence and skills to be a positive influence on the lives and education of the students in the Middletown City School District,” said White.

As the new Highview 6th Grade Center assistant principal, White looks forward to collaborating with the staff and fostering positive relationships with students. This should prove simple for White as he has experience as a teacher and coach, plus his interests include building leadership, reinforcing positive behavior, and technology.

“I look forward to partnering with Principal Dennis and the staff of Highview 6th Grade Center as we create a rich educational experience that values innovation, creativity, and diversity,” said White.

White earned his Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education (math and science) from Miami University and his Master of Education in School Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
