Jen Hayes to become K-12 Programs Curriculum Coordinator

Middletown City School District (MCSD) is excited to announce a change to the Curriculum Department. Jen Hayes will move into the role of K-12 Programs Curriculum Coordinator.

Hayes has been with MCSD for six years and has worked in education for more than two decades. While at MCSD, Hayes has served as a Teacher, Teacher Leader, and most recently as the K-12 Career Coordinator in partnership with Butler Tech.

As the K-12 Career Coordinator, she led the first-ever implementation of a K-5 career tech initiative in the state of Ohio. She also oversaw the implementation of the district’s Passport to Tomorrow program, which delivers career exposure to students well before they graduate.

“Jen has consistently demonstrated exceptional work ethic, dedication, and a strong commitment to the success of the Passport to Tomorrow program,” Keri Hensley, Senior Director of Curriculum said. “I am confident she will continue to work to make our Middies shine as the K-12 Programs Curriculum Coordinator.”

As the K-12 Programs Curriculum Coordinator, Hayes will continue to oversee Passport to Tomorrow, while also focusing on the planning and implementation of the program for grades six through 12.

“Jen has been instrumental in expanding Passport to Tomorrow to help provide our students with valuable learning experiences to prepare them for success after high school,” Superintendent Deborah Houser said. “Her dedication continues to have a significant impact and I’m confident this will continue in her new role."

The change was approved by the Board of Education during the April 24 board meeting. Hayes will begin in her new role on Aug. 1.
