Middletown City School District (MCSD) is excited to announce Kali Jones as the new head coach for the Middletown High School varsity football program. The decision comes after a comprehensive search and interview process, during which Jones demonstrated exceptional leadership, coaching prowess, and a commitment to fostering both athletic and personal development among student-athletes.

"We are tremendously excited to have Kali Jones come to Middletown to reinvigorate our football program and lead us to championships," MCSD Athletic Director JD Foust said. "Coach Jones has a unique ability to teach the game of football effectively to his players and to inspire them with his passion. We conducted a comprehensive search with an impressive array of candidates but in the end, Kali is exactly what our program needs right now, and I cannot wait to partner with him to bring the Middie Magic back!"

Jones, a former United States Marine, has over 15 years of coaching experience, most recently serving as the head coach at Withrow High School in Cincinnati.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to lead Middletown back to what it's used to in terms of success on and off the field. My goal is to build a championship program and win championships," Jones said.

In the 2023 season, Jones led Withrow High School to a 9-1 regular season and a CMAC championship. The Tigers were the OHSAA Regional runner-up finishing 12-2, the most wins ever in a single season in the school’s history.

Jones takes over for Don Simpson who led the Middletown High School varsity football program for six years.
